I have been a school educator for 16 years; 11 of those have been here in Macao at TIS. I received my teaching degree later in life and started my career as a Physics and Calculus teacher in China. My role has expanded from being an Academic Counsellor to also be a part of the team that brought the IB Diploma Programme to TIS. Since we were authorized by the IB organization on July 1st, 2017, I have been TIS’ IB DP Coordinator. It has been an incredible and rewarding challenge to combine the Alberta High School Diploma with the IB DP. The students, staff, and admin have worked very hard to make this combination work; it has been very inspiring. My undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Biomedical Engineering. It was quite a path to get from there to here. I’d be happy to chat about it with you sometime.
